Japanese stock indices ended Friday's session narrowly mixed, but unable to hold onto early gains. The benchmark Nikkei 225 was lower by 32.26 points, or 0.23%, at 14219.48. The broader-based TOPIX ended 3.00 points higher at 1395.87.
